SHORT BODY HOOK

A Short Body Hook is a condition where the body hook does not meet the minimum recommended specification.

POTENTIAL CAUSES:

  • Inadequate lower lifter spring pressure.

  • Excessive pin height (distance between seaming chuck and lower base plate).

  • Broken or damaged lower lifter spring.

  • Short can height or flange width.

SUGGESTED REMEDY:

  • Increase lower lifter spring pressure.

  • Reset pin height.

  • Replace lower lifter spring.
